4 Star, Superior First Class Historical Hotel
The four star Royal St Georges is one of the few hotels in Switzerland build in the Victorian Style architecture.
The Royal St Georges Hotel is a tasteful, art nouveau style hotel which also offers suites. Own car park and large garden. This hotel is fairly central, only a few minutes walk from the main shopping area and Interlaken Ost station. The rear of the hotel overlooks the river and the front faces the famous Jungfrau peak.
The building has elegant, spacious rooms, some with access to a huge terrace and all are beautifully decorated in white and pastels, with large bright bathrooms. Secondly, in the modern wing there are some huge rooms with unusual interiors and enormous bathrooms and lastly there are some very small basic rooms at the back of the hotel, with old fashioned bathrooms. New wellness facility with sauna, whirlpool and steam bath.
There are two restaurants; the one used for breakfast is large, with high ceilings and is imposing and there is also an elegant 'a la carte' restaurant with a bar.
The main building has a traditonal old style facade, with the modern section of the hotel hidden around the side and at the back.
The reception area is very spacious and traditonal in style, with numerous lounge and reading areas, including a pretty enclosed verandah and an imposing staircase leading to the first floor. This is a a charming hotel with an old fashioned feel and some first class rooms.
